Guidance to Golfers

Map of the Course

A map of the course, which can be printed (and expanded) is available HERE.

Hole 1

The lake is out of bounds.
Beware of the bunker at the back of the green.

Hole 2/11

Be aware of players on the 3rd tee when driving from the 2nd tee.

Hole 3/12

Be aware of the wall at the back of the green, over this is out of bounds.

Hole 4

This is the signature hole of BRGC.

a) The right hand post on the hill is the safe line to the pin; a shot to the right of this post is safer and should end up in the valley beyond (beware of being left).
b) If you are not a long hitter then you should play short of the hill, pitch onto the plateau on top of the hill then play to the green.

Hole 5

Top Tee; be aware of players on the 5th and 6th fairways and the 6th tee - all can be seen from this (White) tee.
The lake is out of bounds.
The line is the mast on the skyline.
Be aware of players driving from the 6th tee, when setting off to play your second shot.

Hole 6/15

Be aware of players walking down from the 5th tee.
When reaching the end of the tree line, check left for players driving from the 7th/16th tees.

Hole 7

Do as the card says; be aware of players on the 8th tee.

Hole 8/17

If a ball is hooked left then shout, the 9th tee is round the corner.

Hole 9/18

The lake is out of bounds.
Be aware of players on the 1st tee.

Hole 10

Be aware of players on the 9th green.
Please note that on the right are many trees, with many a ball lost!

Hole 13

This is the signature hole of BRGC (Second time). Beware of being left.

The left hand post on the hill is the safe line to the valley.
This is an elevated tee and in some weather conditions only a drive is required to reach the green. To check if the green is clear there is a post by the fence beyond and at the same level as the 3rd green where you should be able to see if it is clear to tee off.

Hole 14

Bottom Tee - check before driving that the 14th/15th (5th/6th) fairways are clear.
From this bottom tee it is a blind tee shot.
The line is the mast on the skyline.

Hole 16

Bottom Tee - check before driving that the 16th (7th) green is clear.
From this bottom tee it is a blind tee shot.
The line is the chimney pots.
