The Chippendale Trophy 2025 and Ben Rhydding Rabbits Team

The Chippendale competition is organised by the BDRGA. Each Club can enter two teams.
A team is two players with no more than one player having a handicap index of 20.4 or less.
One of our teams for the 2025 season featured Adam Smithson & Karl McDonald. They played three rounds of foursomes against Bingley St Ives (home), West Bradford (away)and Northcliffe (away) before playing the semi-final at the neutral course of South Bradford.
Having won all these matches, our pair went on to play the final at Skipton where they won the last hole with a par to finish 1 up.
Adam & Karl thus won the Chippendale Trophy, being the first winners from Ben Rhydding since the competition was inaugurated in 1949.
Here’s a photo of our champions receiving the trophy at the BDRGA Awards Night. The large trophy we can keep for a year, the smaller trophy is our permanent award.

Our Rabbits team achieved promotion this year finishing runners-up in Div B. 2026 will see them start in Div A for the first time since 2008.
